Dog dies in residential building fire in Limassol
On Wednesday afternoon, a fire broke out in a residential building in Limassol, resulting in the death of a dog. This was reported by the Cyprus Fire Service.
The incident occurred around 15:04 in the Ayios Tychonas area. According to preliminary data, the fire started in the kitchen due to a malfunction in the heating system's electrical panel.
The fire extinguished itself, but it caused significant damage to the kitchen furniture. During inspection, firefighters found the deceased animal inside the house. It was also reported that smoke and high temperatures damaged walls and ceilings on the first and second floors of the building.
One fire truck was dispatched to the scene. Following the investigation, the fire was officially attributed to an electrical fault.
The investigation has been completed.
