Walnuts have been highly regarded in Cyprus since ancient Greece, many centuries before our era. Hippocrates recommended this product as a remedy for maintaining vitality and improving brain function. By the way, the shape of a walnut kernel resembles the human brain.

Modern scientists have discovered that walnuts are rich in iodine, iron, potassium, calcium, manganese, chromium, magnesium, and fat-soluble vitamins A and E. Doctors claim that walnuts have a beneficial effect on the endocrine system and brain function. They help with insomnia, strengthen the bone structure, eliminate parasites in the body, lower cholesterol levels, maintain heart health, improve digestion and metabolism. However, walnuts are so rich in micronutrients that overeating them, especially in October-November right after the harvest, can cause serious allergies. The recommended daily intake for adults is three to four walnuts. But on a regular basis, walnuts will contribute to the prevention of thyroid and gastrointestinal diseases, strengthen the immune system, and improve brain function.
