In Northern Cyprus, there are no official holidays or extended days off at the beginning of January, except for January 1st.
However, many people are accustomed to continuing the celebration of the New Year for several days after New Year's Eve. Additionally, Northern Cyprus is home to many people whose cultures celebrate Christmas on January 7th.

For example, did you know that the famous Zivania from the southern part of the island is also available on the south? Or that alcohol is made even from carob? Or that Rakı is not the same as Rakija? Or that Northern Cyprus has wineries, and excursions to them are an excellent way to spend early January!
Cultural Activities
If you have free time, early January is a great time to explore interesting places in Northern Cyprus: there’s no exhausting heat or crowds of tourists.
This is especially true for the three main mountain castles: St. Hilarion, Buffavento, and Kantara. It’s much better to climb hundreds of steps in the cool of January than in the heat of August.
